Title: Upper School Humanities, Economics, and Bible Teacher

Attended: Westmont College; Chapman University Degrees: B.S. Economics and Business; Teaching Credential Joined Providence in 2022 Jame DeVries joined the Providence faculty after teaching one year at Santa Ynez Valley High School and 22 years at San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara. At San Marcos, he founded the Entrepreneurship Academy, the Kids Helping Kids fundraising program, and was CEO of ELP Education. He was been recognized as Santa Barbara County Distinguished Educator of the Year and as Goleta Valley Educator of the Year. He also is the recipient of the Superintendent Bill Cirone Heart of Education Award. He loves sharing his spirit for adventure and service through international travel, service-learning opportunities, and event creation. Whether it’s helping students create their own venture or serving alongside them in various nonprofit endeavors, Jamie DeVries’s goal is always to encourage passion in his students. Jamie and Tiffany DeVries are the parents of two daughters, both of whom attend Providence; one in the Preschool and one in the Lower School. In his time thus far at Providence, Mr. DeVries has enjoyed “getting to know and encourage some incredible kids.”
