Elaine Rottman has worked in independent and Christian school communications, marketing, and development since 1981. Prior to joining the administration of Providence as director of advancement she worked at Contra Costa Christian High School (Walnut Creek, CA) and Brookfield Academy (Brookfield, WI). She also served Sonlight Christian Reformed Church in Lynden, WA as education director and was copy editor for Radix Magazine (Berkeley, CA). She ran a freelance copy editing, desktop publishing, and technical writing business for many years.

She chose to work at Providence because she cares deeply about providing excellent education from a Christian worldview.

In the local community, Elaine serves on the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission Women’s Auxiliary and the Channel Islands YMCA Good Friday Breakfast Planning Committee. She is married to retired Providence Upper School teacher Bruce Rottman and they are the parents of two adult children.

Her favorite Providence tradition is sending the graduates down the aisle on Commencement Day.
