His own student experience includes playing football for the UCLA Bruins. Prior to joining the Providence faculty, he spent five years teaching PE at Oaks Christian School (Thousand Oaks, CA) and 20 years enhancing performance for athletes at all levels. He was director of performance at The Elite Performance Factory, where he developed programs and oversaw training for professional and elite athletes in the NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS, USA track and field, AVP volleyball, and motocross. He also prepared college athletes through The Factory’s NFL and NBA pre-combine programs and as a strength and conditioning coach at UCLA in multiple sports. Scott Mitchell enjoys the authentic relationships he builds with students and colleagues at a school the size of Providence.  He enjoys surfing, working out, and spending time with his family. His favorite Providence tradition is the outdoor education trips. [ADD LINK]
