Tuition & Fees

Providence tuition rates are carefully and prayerfully set by our board of directors to cover most, but not all, the cost to educate a student. As an independent school, we rely on tuition dollars supplemented by the generosity of our extended community of parents, grandparents, faculty, board members, alumni, and supporters of Christian education to cover the true cost of a Providence education.

We are committed to providing the highest-quality education possible, giving families value for the dollars spent.

Parents of Providence students will tell you it is worth every penny invested and every sacrifice made to provide their children with the gift of Christian education.

We have had to make sacrifices to get our children to Providence, but we are fully convinced that this investment in their learning, character, and faith, will last them forever.

Grades 3–6 class trips (e.g., SeaWorld, Sacramento, California History Tour, and Catalina Island) and the grades 4-6 spiritual retreat are not covered by tuition or the student fee. Families will be informed of the additional charge for those trips early in the school year.

Providence operates under an enrollment management practice called continuous enrollment. Simply stated, when a K–12 student is admitted, they are enrolled until they graduate. Should a family choose to withdraw for the next school year, written notification is required by February 20. (For example, to withdraw from the 2023–2024 school year, notice is required by February 20, 2023.)

In addition to keeping tuition rates low compared to other independent schools in our area, Providence provides generous tuition assistance to families with demonstrated need.

If you would like to request a need-based award, please see the tuition assistance page for information on how to apply. Applications are due December 15 for returning families and January 28 for priority-decision new families. All tuition assistance requests are kept strictly confidential and do not affect admission decisions.

Providence is an independent community partner to Christian churches and ministries in providing spiritual formation for students. In recognition of our common goals, we offer qualified Santa Barbara ministry leaders and Westmont college faculty a 25% discount on tuition at all grade levels, Preschool through Upper School.
